The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program is split into 7 categories. Individuals may test their eligibility in any one of the 7 categories by reviewing their eligibility requirements below.

Prince Edward Island PNP Skilled Workers
To qualify in the Skilled Worker category, applicants must have:
- Score at least 50 points on the PEI PNP Self-Assessment form;
- A Prince Edward Island job offer for a skilled position;
- Education and training consistent with the position offered;
- A command of the English and French language if required for the position; and
- The intention to settle in Prince Edward Island.
Prince Edward Island PNP Critical Workers
To qualify in the category of critical workers, applicants must have:
- A Prince Edward Island job offer in skill level C or D in one of the following occupations:
- Truck driver
- Customer service representative
- Labourer
- Food & beverage server
- Housekeeping attendant
- A minimum of 6 months work experience for a Prince Edward Island employer;
- Score at least 50 points on the PEI PNP Self-Assessment form;
- The intention to settle in Prince Edward Island;
- Meet at least some of the following criteria:
- Be less than 55 years of age;
- Have a minimum 12 years of education, including a high school diploma;
- Completed at least two years of full-time work experience within the past five years
- Be capable of being interviewed in English or French; and
- A command of the English and French language if required for the position
Prince Edward Island PNP Family Connections
Canadian citizens or permanent residents residing in Prince Edward Island can request nomination for their close family members for Canadian permanent resident status. Residents of PEI must meet the following criteria:
- Have lived in PEI for more than two years as a Canadian Permanent Resident or citizen;
- Have a regular source of income sufficient for their needs and the needs of their dependents; and
- Have an unblemished personal history.
To be recommended by an eligible family member, applicants must:
- Have the intention to live in PEI;
- Prove that they are an eligible family member of the Champion’s (parent or grandparent, child or grandchild, sibling, cousin, niece or nephew, aunt or uncle);
- Have an offer of employment or, in the view of the Province, a capacity to work in PEI; and
- Be in good health with no criminal record.
Prince Edward Island PNP International Graduate
To qualify in the International Graduate category, an applicant must have:
- Graduated within the past two years from full-time study at an accredited Canadian University or College.
- Score at least 50 points on the PEI PNP Self-Assessment form;
- A Prince Edward Island job offer in skill type 0 or skill level A or B;
- A minimum of 6 months work experience for a Prince Edward Island employer
- A command of the English and French language if required for the position; and
- The intention to settle in Prince Edward Island
Prince Edward Island PNP 100% Ownership
To qualify in the 100% Ownership category, an applicant must:
- Have the age, education, work experience, adaptability and language skills necessary to establish and operate a business in Prince Edward Island;
- Have a personal net worth of at least $400,000 CDN;
- Deposit $100,000 CDN, which is held in escrow;
- Make a minimum $150,000 CDN investment to start or purchase an eligible business in Prince Edward Island;
- Control 100% of the business and provide active and on-going management of the business from within Prince Edward Island;
- Have a settlement proposal outlining the intention to move and settle in Prince Edward Island; and
- Submit a business plan after an exploratory visit to Prince Edward Island.
Prince Edward Island PNP Partial Ownership
To qualify in the Partial Ownership category, an applicant must:
- Have the age, education, work experience, adaptability and language skills necessary to establish and operate a business in Prince Edward Island;
- Have a personal net worth of at least $400,000 CDN;
- Deposit $100,000 CDN, which is held in escrow;
- Make a minimum investment of $150,000 CDN in a Prince Edward Island business;
- Control more than 33.3% of the equity in the business or make an equity investment in the business of at least $1,000,000 CDN;
- Provide active and on-going management of the business from within Prince Edward Island;
- Have a settlement proposal outlining the intention to move and settle in Prince Edward Island; and
- Submit a business plan after an exploratory visit to Prince Edward Island.
Prince Edward Island PNP Work Permit
To qualify in the Work Permit category, an applicant must:
- Have the age, education, work experience, adaptability and language skills necessary to establish and operate a business in Prince Edward Island;
- Be eligible and willing to apply to CIC for approval of a work permit for the Prince Edward Island business where the applicant intends to work and invest in.
- Have a personal net worth of at least $400,000 CDN;
- Make a minimum investment of $150,000 CDN in a Prince Edward Island business;
- Control more than 33.3% of the equity in the business or make an equity investment in the business of at least $1,000,000 CDN;
- Provide active and on-going management of the business from within Prince Edward Island;
- Have a settlement proposal outlining the intention to move and settle in Prince Edward Island; and
- Submit a business plan after an exploratory visit to Prince Edward Island.
