The Federal Skilled Worker Program is for foreign nationals who plan to immigrate to Canada. Skilled workers are selected to become Canadian permanent residents (Landed Immigrant Status) based on their education, work experience, knowledge of English and/or French, as well as other criteria that has been shown to help them become economically established in Canada.

If you are apply through the Federal Skilled Worker Program you may bring your spouse, common-law partner and/or your dependent children.

Federal Skilled Workers may apply through the Federal Skilled Worker Program or possibly qualify to apply through one of the fast-track provincial immigration programs. Requirements for Federal Skilled Worker Program

  • you must have an offer of arranged employment, or
  • you are a skilled worker who has at least one year of full-time, paid work experience in one or more of the approved occupations (NOC 0, A or B).

Quebec Skilled Worker Program: for skilled workers who intend to reside in the province of Quebec.

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Skilled Workers: Nearly all Canadian provinces have specific skilled worker immigration programs designed for people who intend to reside in their province.
