Open a business and/or make an investment to immigrate!
This is an immigration solution for those who do not meet the requirements of the Federal Skilled Worker program or the Quebec Skilled Worker program. Opening a business or investing in Canada means investing in your family’s future.
Both the Federal government and the individual provincial governments have established business and investment programs for foreign nationals with business experience and a high net worth. Canada admits business immigrants on a permanent basis if they apply through the Business Immigration Program. The business immigration program is designed to attract individuals with capital, business experience and entrepreneurial skills.
There are 3 classes within the Business Immigration Program
- Investor Class
- Entrepreneur Class
- Self-Employed Class
Business immigrants are expected to own and manage a business in Canada, or make an $800,000 investment. The criteria that one must meet to qualify are different for each class.
Foreign nationals who apply for permanent resident status through the Business Immigration Program often entail processing delays that exceed the expectations of the applicant. However, alternative solutions that allow early entry into Canada may be available by way of temporary admission to Canada through the investor class route.
If you intend to live in a specific province, you may wish to review the individual business immigration programs offered through the Provincial Nominee Program.
